Underwater photography presents three challenges. Getting your position in the water stable and controlled, getting your breathing calm and relaxed and getting the right amount of light to the camera lens. With two dives the course aims to address all of these until your underwater shots are as good as ours!
Starting with a workshop to understand the challenges and techniques behind taking good photographs underwater the course moves on into putting these skills into action across two adventure dives. Finding what to take a photo of is as important as adjusting settings on the camera to accommodate depth, colour and distance as well as harassing natural light from the surface.
Whilst your eyes colour correct, auto focus and make adjustments under water, cameras are not nearly as sophisticated. Your underwater photos are only as good as the amount of colour and light you were able to preserve in the photograph. Post production is all about enhancing those colours and re-rendering your image to try and replicate what your eyes saw.
