Enjoy the exotic and exclusive Galapagos Islands on a 10-day trip where we will dive in the best spots of the archipelago aboard the "Aqua" boat with land extensions on Isabela and Santa Cruz islands, where we will enjoy the best landscapes, spot all the wildlife in the area, and engage in a variety of activities surrounded by pristine nature.
Galapagos is the second largest marine reserve in the world. With a wonderful underwater life of large species and very diverse richness, it is the best diving destination on the planet: all kinds of sharks (hammerheads, Galapagos, whales, whitetips...), pelagics, sea lions, eagle rays, iguanas, turtles...
But it's not just amazing underwater; on land, we'll have the chance to see land turtles, iguanas, penguins, and a bunch of endemic exotic birds in the area, as well as unique volcanic landscapes in the world.
Trip Schedule
From December 2nd to 11th, 2024 (10 days)
Day 1 (December 2nd, Monday).
Departure from Madrid or Barcelona International Airport to Guayaquil (GYE). Arrival in the afternoon and overnight stay in a guesthouse near the airport (timings to be confirmed).
Day 2 (December 3rd, Tuesday).
Transfer to Guayaquil Airport (GYE) and flight to Baltra (GPS), arriving around 12 pm. Upon arrival at the Ecological Airport: first check to ensure that no foreign plant or animal species are introduced to the islands. In addition, your TCC (Transit Control Card) will be stamped, which must be presented again on the return flight. Finally, you will also need to pay the entrance fee to the Galapagos National Park (USD 100). The guide will meet us at the airport and accompany us on the short bus trip to board the "Aqua" yacht, where a welcome briefing will be given, and cabins will be assigned. After lunch, we will set sail and navigate towards North Seymour, where the diving program will begin. In the afternoon, first "check dive" immersion.
Day 3 (December 4th, Wednesday).
After sailing around Isabela Island, we will arrive at Cabo Marshall, located northwest of the island. 3 dives are planned in the area. In the afternoon, we will start sailing towards Darwin.
Day 4 (December 5th, Thursday).
After a long sail, we will reach the mythical Darwin, where since May 2021 the arch turned into pillars due to the collapse it suffered. Day of 4 dives in the area.
Day 5 (December 6th, Friday).
In the morning, two more dives will be done in Darwin. After the dives, sailing towards Wolf Island, where two more dives are planned. Quiet night without sailing.
Day 6 (December 7th, Saturday).
Day of 3 dives around Wolf Island. After the last dive, long navigation towards Isabela Island.
Day 7 (December 8th, Sunday).
Back on Isabela, we will dive early in the morning at Punta Vicente Roca (northeast of the island). We will quickly sail to Cabo Douglas to dive there before the iguanas leave the water until the next day.
Day 8 (December 9th, Monday).
Two morning dives at Roca Cousin. In the afternoon, a land excursion to the high part of Santa Cruz, where we will visit the El Chato tortoise reserve.
Day 9 (December 10th, Tuesday).
After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the crew of the "Aqua" yacht and transfer by bus to Baltra Airport to fly back to Spain.
Day 10 (December 11th, Wednesday).
Arrival in Spain. End of the trip.
The itinerary may be modified if weather conditions do not permit or if flights experience schedule changes. The sighting of the planned species cannot be guaranteed either. They are wild animals, and we cannot always predict exactly where to find them.
